Barossa Valley

The Barossa is even Better by Bike

Barossa is better by bike

There is no better way to explore the Barossa’s premium food, wine and rich heritage than by bike. The quality sealed shared path network extends 40 kilometres from Angaston to Gawler via the four main Barossa townships of Angaston, Nuriootpa, Tanunda and Lyndoch.

The shared bike path is ideal for intimately exploring the natural beauty of our magnificent region at your own pace. Travel as little or as much of the path as you like in either direction, enjoying stunning views, attractions and generous Barossa hospitality every step of the way.

Cycling around the Barossa is generally easy on flat, undulating shared paths that take you between towns and cellar doors. You may like to explore the 6.5km Rail Trail section of the Barossa Trail between the towns of Nuriootpa and Angaston. Download the entire Barossa by Bike Trail Map (links below) which details the degree of difficulty for each section.

The Barossa Valley is located approximately one hour N/E from Adelaide by car or you can travel by train to the last stop in Gawler (Gawler Central Station) and walk directly across the road to the Gawler Visitor Information Centre to hire your bikes and cycle along the Barossa Trail. You can also travel to the Barossa by bus/coach via a LinkSA or Adelaide Metro service.
